She was the widow of Commodore Fred W. Wakefield, founder of the F. W. Wakefield Brass Co., here, who died in 1934. Mrs. Wakefield was born Sept. 28, 1874 in Brooklyn, N. Y., and has been a resident of Vermilion for the past 45 years. She was a member of the Congregational Church and its King's Daughters Sunday School Class and Missionary Society and the Vermilion Sorosis. Surviving are six sons, Albert, William, George and Theodore, all of Vermilion and Fred and Ernest, both Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Hofrichter, Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Ruth Stutz, Vermilion; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. ...
