Vermillion, Feb. 20. - The funeral of Capt. Burt Parsons held here today was one of the largest ever held in the place. Mr. Parsons was a very popular citizen and his death casts a gloom over the entire town. The funeral was held at 12:30 in the Methodist church, the Rev. J. F. Lewis conducting the service. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful, the casket being almost hidden by these touching tributes of many friends. The pall bearers were Capt. F. A. Bailey, G. B. McConley, Geo. Risden and George T. Wahl.
Capt. Parsons was 41 years of age and leaves a wife and six children. He died of pneumonia being ill only a few days. Every flag in Vermilion is at half mast this afternoon.
